Playoffs Week 2 Bets
Here are my bets for this week:
Baltimore +3
Carolina -9.5
Philadelphia +4
Pittsburgh -6
This Is History

From Manning to Manning. Eli played like the MVP and deserves it, the only other contender for that award would have been Justin Tuck if he didn’t have to come out in the 4th. Once again we learned offense wins ball games, defense wins championships.
Lead Pipe Locks
Well, I’m 4-4 in the playoffs so far, so it’s time for me to make my AFC/NFC Title picks.
New England matches up well against San Diego, and Bill is going to have his team extremely fired up at home to play this game. The Pats’ defense showed you that they can step up against an A+ running game (last week), and I think it’s hard for warm weather teams to trek up to a cold New England and be effective on offense. I see this game being a blow out.
I think Green Bay is going to win this game, but against the spread this is a tough game to call. I think this game hinges completely on the weather. 6 Degrees at Kickoff. The Giants beat a couple of bad teams, like Dallas, and now everyone has jumped on the bandwagon. I think Green Bay is younger and significantly more talented, so much so that they will not be able to hang with the Packers.
Lead Pipe Locks
Here are my Lead Pipe Locks for week two of the 2008 NFL playoffs…
Seattle is playing better right now. They’re a scary road team, and GB has lost a step. Nonetheless, I think GB will win this game, but Seattle will cover.
Jacksonville is the only team that is not scared to play the Patriots. The Jags are so physical, they are the only team that I think can beat the Pats. However, it’s going to come down to the fact that Jacksonville’s secondary is too suspect. Jags are a great run stopping team and the Pats are not a good running team. We’ll see how this one plays out.
Last time they faced each other Manning threw a career high 6 interceptions. San Diego has owned Indi the past two times they faced off. My gut feeling is that Peyton will pick them apart this go around. If I’m a betting man, I would stay away from this game though.
Can Eli really do it? We’ll know one thing, either he’s just played two good games in a row, or he actually can step up. If you ask me, I think he’s just had two good games in a row. I’ll still take the Giants because I just don’t trust Dallas without TO and their shaky end of season.
